Gentle Reminders

What to do when life overwhelms me, when I am buried beneath the day and its activities and demands? I lift up mine eyes and study Big Brother Mountain, who stands without wavering and looks down, unaffected by our goings-on. I look and smile upon Sister Flora and her blanket of greenery all around; I breathe in with gratefulness and breathe out with giving and love, embracing the intertwined cycle of life.

And I remember, there is no meaning, no necessity, no expectations or demands, that I need cling to, inherent in any given situation. I remember Big Brother Mountain; I remember the One Who Is All.
