I love exploring the power and wisdom of the tarot’s court cards!
To begin understanding their complexity and potential guidance, let’s break down each element and its corresponding suit…
Fire (Wands): Energy, Ambition, Passion
Air (Swords): Thought, Mental Activity
Water (Cups): Emotion, Feelings
Earth (Pentacles, Disks, Coins): The Material World (including career, or any other physical surroundings)
It helps one to recall that “We can’t know anything outside our mind. Everything we see is contained within our mind. Thus, I am not in the world. The world is in me.” (— Haemin Sunim [@haeminsunim] March 8, 2017)
Thus, 3 out of the 4 elements are found originating within ourselves, and the material world is the recipient of whatever way we act out in response to these inner elements.
Fire, or the Wands suit of the tarot, represents energy and ambition. The raw force to get things done and make change happen. It is visceral, powerful, and forms often an uneasy and delicate balancing act with the other elements of our personalities.
Why do we love crystals so much? Perhaps one reason is the way each crystal captures the light in its intricate structure, and each structure is unique. Then, the crystal sends that light (influenced through the crystal’s structure) to us. I always find crystals to be the most mesmerizing when seen through the Light. ☺️☀️💠
I’ve always loved crystals, gemstones, and rocks of all kinds. I used to have my own little geological collection growing up.
I suppose they’ve helped me feel connections to the Earth, each in their own unique way. Lately, I’ve had a personal renaissance of my fascination and study of crystals in my day-to-day, and I’ve enjoyed using combinations of certain stones to aid in meditation, tarot study, work, and more.
These past couple of days I received two very meaningful readings. Both focused on the Page (or Princess) of Disks.
I love my deck’s depiction of her; she just seems so happy and in her element… 🙂
Both readings focus on embracing and responding to the Completion and Success found in my life at this moment in time. In other words, let this be a time of rest, not of struggle or turmoil.
The top reading includes advice to understand and embrace the knowledge that Change is the Universal Constant. Things will change and grow, and my circumstances will not always remain as they are. And that’s a good thing. 🙂
The second reading anticipated the struggle I’d have today with my Emotions and my Thoughts: that emotions will have a tendency to throw my thoughts into imbalance, and vice-versa.
But, in spite of that struggle, my subconscious encourages me to remain in my childlike security and joy, resting in the stability of the Earth and my Successes this far.
